We’ve had a tremendous response to our call our for the #Bridge #Lounge #exhibition #London #photography

Don’t miss out!

We have secured another six months exhibition in the prestigious wine bar/restaurant Bridge Lounge (London Bridge area) from February 2015- your images will be viewed by hundreds of people everyday, and not only will this increase your exposure but we also had a number of sales in the previous exhibition we held there last year.

The brief:

Theme: images of London (images that contain a recognisable London landmark or of the London Bridge area are preferable)

Cost: £75 for 6 months (this includes printing, installation, marketing and representation on our website for one selected image for six months)

Requirements:  please send in low res images if attached to emails, via DropBox or a link to your website.  Please ensure all images are titled/labelled (and avoid ‘untitled’!)

Submissions: by 1st February 2015

Open to photographers worldwide

Microsoft and Thomson Reuters Foundation partner Talenthouse to empower photographers at this year’s Trust Women Photo Award.

Microsoft and Thomson Reuters Foundation are partnering Talenthouse, the global community of artists, to empower photographers with a series of career opportunities as part of this year’s Trust Women Photo Award. Photographers around the world are invited to submit images which best capture the lives and stories of extraordinary women achieving incredible things in their communities.Talenthouse is dedicated to empowering creatives around the world to make ideas happen by providing them with opportunities to collaborate with major brands, and receive financial rewards and global exposure for their work.

The Selected Artist, as chosen by a judging panel which includes Finbarr O’Reilly, Reuters photographer and World Press Photo winner, will have their photography showcased in London at the Trust Women Conference, the annual international event organised by Thomson Reuters Foundation which is dedicated to the advancement of women’s rights and the fight against human trafficking and slavery.

As well as having their photograph showcased at this year’s Trust Women Conference, the Selected Artist will be awarded the esteemed Trust Women Photo Award, featured in an interview published on the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s award-winning website trust.org, and have their photography showcased across the social channels of Thomson Reuters Foundation, Trust Women, and Microsoft. The Selected Artist will have the opportunity to further boost their career prospects with an all-expense paid trip to a Mobile Journalism training course, and have their portfolio reviewed by the Thomson Reuters Foundation multimedia team.

CALL OUT FOR THE SOUTHWARK ARTS FORUM AWARDS NOMINATIONS

Do you know an artist or an arts organisation that deserves special recognition for an outstanding achievement in the arts & culture industry in Southwark?

Would you like to nominate the London Photo Festival?? We’d be most grateful and it will help raise the profile of the Festival! 

On Friday 27th February 2015, SAF will be holding the second Southwark Arts Forum The Awards (SAFTA) ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the talent and inspiration Southwark has to offer. The event will be held at Unicorn Theatre, Tooley Street.

Nominations shall be made via email to Southwark Arts Forum Director Bridget Edwards. Each nomination shall state the reason for the nomination and provide a brief synopsis of the nominee’s accomplishments and reasons why they should receive the award. Individuals and organisations can nominate themselves.

The awards ceremony will consist of 8 award categories; Four of which are themed to celebrate groups or individuals within the borough and four of which are to celebrate art forms.
1. Best community arts project/ programme (group or individuals)
2. Celebrating diversity in the arts (groups or individuals)
3. Arts Champion (individual)
4. Emerging Talent (individual)
5. Performing arts, theatre, dance, spoken word (groups or individuals)
6. Visual arts including digital, film and photography (groups or individuals)
7. Literature, including poetry (groups or individuals)
8. Musicians including singers, instrumentalists, composers across any genre (groups or individuals)
This is a great opportunity to have your work shown to a large audience of special invitation only guests and to have your work publicized within the event programme. The work will receive special mention when the winner is announced.
