Help us get entries from every country in the #world! #photography #photocontest

We like a challenge at the London Photo Festival!

We are looking for images that epitomise where you live and it is our aim to get entries from every country in the WORLD! This includes separate states, provinces or counties – for example, we are not just looking for images from the USA, we’d be looking for images from all 50 states or from every county in the UK etc.

You can only enter one image, so make sure you select your best work!

We will then select our favourite 30 images for exhibition in London for three months plus:

First Place: £50 cash prize
Second Place: £30 cash prize
Third Place: £20 cash prize

Enter here.

Join our Photographers of the World movement! #photography

We’ve set up a new group (Photographers of the World) – please join it. We know all about your photographs but we don’t know much about you! We are looking to feature the face behind the photo – do you want to be featured? Send us a short video (1 min max) or some blurb about you (you can mention what photography projects you are working on but remember you want to find out about YOU) and a photo of yourself. Email: info@londonphotofestival.org or Emma at info@mappoflondon.uk

We have a number of #photocontests for you to enter! #photography #London

Theme ‘Window with a London View’:

When a recent flood damaged some of the WPF Therapy Rooms based in London Bridge, we’ve teamed up with the charity to help them adorn their recently refurbished walls with some great art. They are looking for images of London taken through a window or a door – pictures that include the frame of the window in some way, it has to visible in your picture that you are looking out through a window or doorway.

Whether it’s the view from the top of The Shard in London, or looking out from your own home, London has some of the world’s best and most interesting window views. The image can be taken from any London building or attraction – it could be a landscape, cityscape or any view from any London window that inspires you.

·         The competition is free to enter.

·         Photographers selected for exhibition will receive £50 per image

·         The images will be exhibited for 3-5 years from January 2018

·         You will also have the opportunity to sell prints of your image

Enter here.

And we’ve teamed up with Mapp of London to run their first photography competition!  They are looking for your images of towns or cities and the relationship they have with water – from London and the river Thames to a small town pictured in the rain or snow – any images of the urban landscape featuring some element of water.  Their favourite image will be exhibited in London from early 2018 for three months and the photographer will win a monogrammed camera strap from their current collection. The public will also have an opportunity to vote for their favourite image and this will also be exhibited in London for three months from early 2018.  The winners will receive recognition on Mapp of London and the London Photo Festival & Gallery’s social media channels via Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and blogs. Good Luck!

We speak to Thomas Sweetman, 2nd runner up in our Nature #Photography Competition #Chiang Mai #Thailand

I took this photo in Chiang Mai Thailand. One evening I was passing the river banks and noticed a tiny bike bridge over the Ping River that connected two small villages. It was quite a sight watching the small bikes taking the bridge so I captured this aerial which really summed up the experience of man crossing nature while the river created patterns below and the traffic crossed over.
