Congratulations to @paubuscato the winner of our 2nd #streetphotography #photocontest #Lodon #Oslo

Our judge, Paul Russell, tell us why he selected Pau’s winning image:-

I chose Pau Buscato’s photo as he has taken a theme that has rapidly become cliched subject matter – the selfie stick camera shot – and made something interesting and humorous, given the bleak location. A nice dash of pink as well, and daring composition, going so close to the edge of the frame.

We speak to Pau Buscato 1st Runner Up Street Photography Competition

In the last two years I’ve been many times to London with the only purpose of taking pictures. I usually travel there alone and spend all day shooting. Really like the city and the potential it has for doing street photography, so when I saw the competition thought it would be great having a picture exhibited there, so I tried.
Being among the 20 finalists with 2 pictures was already a great reward.
I took that photo on December 2015, on a Sunday. I went out for a walk around the Opera in Oslo and saw that woman sitting alone with her “friend”, so I ran to the roof (it’s all walkable) to get a higher point of view and show the scene better.
I took it with a Sony A7s and a 28mm Voigtlander Color-Skopar f3.5.
Congratulations Pau and you can catch the exhibition at The Bridge Lounge and Dining Room near London Bridge until the 30th May 2016.
