We catch up with Best in Show Winner May 2018 Daniel Bradley Photography #londonphotofestival #streetphotography

‘Lost in the city’ was taken from a series Daniel produced in his third year at university. Daniel excels in street photography using lighting and different camera techniques to produce powerful and atmospheric images.
Titled ‘Isolated’ Daniel wanted to explore street photography is a different aspect, looking at how lighting affects an images atmosphere and the emotion it portrays.
‘Isolated’ looks deeper into how even in our vastly populated society, full of communication and expanding environments, we can still feel alone and uncertain. The work looks to show how a single person can be lost by delving into the idea of being trapped and isolated from everything and everyone around us, even in a world so connected.
Images can be found on Daniel’s website https://www.danielbradleyphotography.co.uk/Photography/Isolated/

Congratulations to our 1st Runner Up #london #photography #londonphotofestival

Congratulations to Matthew Pritchard, 1st Runner Up with his image ‘Homeward Bound’.

When I first saw this structure, I thought it would make an interesting shot but the light wasn’t quite right. I returned about an hour later. I approached from the front and this man was bathing in beautiful golden light. I hurried around to the back to capture the shadow.

Matthew Pritchard has been carrying a camera around with him since the early days of digital. While he still shoots digital, he has recently discovered analogue and develops his own black and white images.

Best in Show, runners up & honourable mentions announced! #london #londonphotofestival #streetphotography #photography

A big thank you to our judge Filip Gierlinski and to everyone who attended our Private View on 16 May 2018.

Street photography is the observation of juxtaposition and humour, capturing the quirky  moments of life in an everyday urban environment.  It depicts the relationship between people v. architecture and how they live in and use the space.

You can see Filip’s Best in Show, runners up and honourable mentions at our Festival 17-19 May and on our Facebook page.

Featured Festival Photographer #photography #London #londonphotofestival #art #exhibitions #sydney #australia #Montenegro

Featured Festival Photographer:-
Zorica Purlija won a place in the Festival on Instagram and is our first exhibitor from Sydney, Australia.

Zorica migrated age 8 from Montenegro to Australia in 1972: a country where she could not speak the language.

As she learned to live in a different culture, she observed that the nuances of human interaction often were more revealing than the words.

Since 1999, Zorica has been pursuing her artistic vision through the medium of photography.

Initially pursuing themes of beauty, longing and the human experience through photographic portraiture, Zorica developed a unique ability to capture the essence of her subjects, beginning (and continuing) with a series of portraits of her muse, Yumi.

More recently in addition to her portrait work, Zorica has been pursuing less figurative subjects, incorporating ethereal elements of landscape, and everyday objects seen in new ways.

You can see her image at the Festival 17-19 May 2018.
