Hello my name is Maria, photography is my calling, my profession, and the thing that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday. I don’t photograph subjects. I photograph the way they make me feel. I am fortunate to be able to spend a good amount of time on personal projects, traveling and collaborating with a team of rad people. I make my bed in Kavala, Greece and am dying for assignments where I have the opportunity to travel. I am an an awarded photographer my work has been published in magazines and books, and I also have taken part in exhibitions in Greece and New York.
She is currently working on a project called ‘Eternity‘ – a photography project exploring how landscape shapes and communicates with eternity.
We have been invited again to take part in photo19 Zurich’s ‘Directors Choice Series’. The series will show exhibited images from up to 100 photography festivals from all around the world. Samantha Connolly is an amateur photographer originally from Glasgow, United Kingdom and is now living in London, United Kingdom. Her passion is reportage and portraiture. She has been nominated and commended in several international awards including the Sony World Photography Awards and the Photography Masters Cup.
Congratulations to Matthew Pritchard, 1st Runner Up with his image ‘Homeward Bound’.
When I first saw this structure, I thought it would make an interesting shot but the light wasn’t quite right. I returned about an hour later. I approached from the front and this man was bathing in beautiful golden light. I hurried around to the back to capture the shadow.
Matthew Pritchard has been carrying a camera around with him since the early days of digital. While he still shoots digital, he has recently discovered analogue and develops his own black and white images.
